OnlineJobs.ph proved a simple idea: let employers browse workers for free, charge a flat subscription to contact them, take no cut of salaries, and let people hire directly. It works. If you want that same model but with Indonesian workers instead of Filipino ones, this is who we are and how we compare. We will be straight about what is the same, what is different, and where the Philippines still has the edge.
We run OnlineJobs Indonesia, so this is not a neutral review. It is an honest description from the people building the Indonesian version.
The model we kept
We copied the parts of the OnlineJobs.ph model that make it fair and that make it work:
- Free to browse. You can view worker profiles and read applications without paying. You see the quality before you spend anything.
- Flat subscription to contact. You pay a monthly fee for the right to message workers. No commission, no salary markup, no escrow.
- No take-rate, ever. Workers keep 100 percent of their salary. Hiring and payment happen directly between you and the worker, off-platform.
- Cancel after you hire. Most employers subscribe for a hiring stretch, hire, and cancel. That is normal and expected. Come back for the next hire and your account stays.
The paywall exists for the same reason it does on OnlineJobs.ph: free contact turns a job board into a scam magnet, and the subscription is how the platform makes money without charging workers a cent.
What is different: the country, and the trade-offs
The obvious difference is the talent pool. Indonesia, not the Philippines. That brings real trade-offs, and we would rather you know them up front.
- Lower typical salaries. Indonesian rates usually run below Philippine rates for comparable experience, because the market is younger and less crowded with employers. See our salary breakdown.
- More variable spoken English. The Philippines has a deeper pool of call-ready English speakers. Indonesian written English is often strong, spoken fluency varies more. Our Indonesia versus Philippines comparison covers this honestly.
- A younger, thinner market. Fewer prior reviews and less history to lean on. That is why we lean harder on verification and visible writing samples.
What we built to close the trust gap
Because Indonesia’s market is newer, we put trust signals in the product rather than asking you to take a leap:
- Government-ID verification. Workers can verify their identity against their national ID (KTP), so you are not messaging an anonymous profile.
- Shown-not-told English. Profiles include unedited written answers in English, so you judge writing directly instead of trusting a self-rated label.
- Response signals. Profiles surface how recently a worker was active and how fast they typically reply, which is often the difference between a hire and a ghost.
Our own dataset is still growing, so we do not claim big historical numbers. We give you verification and real writing samples instead.
Pricing shape
The pricing follows the same logic as OnlineJobs.ph, set a notch lower because we are asking you to bet on a newer market. A free tier to browse and post a limited job, and paid tiers that unlock replies and outreach. You can see current tiers on the pricing page.
Who should use this OnlineJobs.ph alternative
Stay with OnlineJobs.ph if you specifically need Filipino workers, want the most established pool, or need heavy spoken-English call work with the deepest talent bench.
Try OnlineJobs Indonesia if you want the same fair, direct-hire model at typically lower salaries, you are comfortable vetting with a small paid test, and you want to hire in a market before it fills up with competitors.
How the hiring flow works
The day-to-day is the same simple loop you know from OnlineJobs.ph:
- Browse and post for free. Search worker profiles, filter by skill and salary, and post a job. Reading applications costs nothing.
- Subscribe when you are ready to talk. When you want to message a worker or reply to an applicant, you subscribe. That is the moment the paywall appears, and it is deliberately at the point of real intent.
- Interview and test off-platform. Move to a call or a small paid task on your own terms. We do not sit in the middle of your relationship.
- Hire directly and pay directly. You and the worker agree terms and payment. No escrow, no cut.
- Cancel when the hiring is done. Come back when you need the next person. Your account and history stay put.

What we deliberately did not copy
We did not copy everything. A few choices are ours:
- A cleaner, mobile-first product. Indonesian workers are mobile-first, so the whole experience is built to work well on a phone, for both sides.
- Verification and writing samples up front. Because the market is younger, we surface identity verification and real English writing earlier and more prominently, rather than making you dig for trust signals.
- A lower launch price. We set pricing a notch below OnlineJobs.ph because you are betting on a newer market, and we think the discount should reflect that.
None of this reinvents the model. It adapts a proven one to a different country and a different device.
The bottom line
Same model, different country, honest trade-offs. If the OnlineJobs.ph approach is what you like and Indonesia fits your budget and roles, browse Indonesian workers free or read how it works first.
Before you decide, price your role with the virtual assistant cost calculator. It compares both markets on cost, English and working hours.
