Why Bandung produces strong remote workers
Three things make Bandung different from other Indonesian cities.
The university pipeline is technical and creative at the same time. ITB teaches engineering, computing, architecture and fine arts on one campus. Telkom University is built around software, telecommunications and digital business. The result is a worker profile that is hard to find elsewhere: a developer who understands design, an illustrator who has shipped game assets, an English-education graduate who can build course content.
The city already exports work. Walden Global Services runs its technology center in Bandung and reports clients in more than 25 countries. GITS, a Bandung software firm, keeps an office in San Francisco. Agate, in Summarecon Bandung, has built over 250 games for more than 200 clients.
