Cookie Policy

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We use a few first-party cookies to make the platform work, plus optional analytics cookies to understand how it is used. We set no advertising cookies and we do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act.

2. The cookies we set

CookiePurposeTypeDuration
sb-*Keeps you signed in (authentication)EssentialSession, refreshed while you use the site
NEXT_LOCALERemembers your language choiceEssential1 year
oj_consentRecords your cookie choice so we do not ask againEssential180 days
ph_*Product analytics (PostHog): pages viewed, feature usageAnalyticsUp to 1 year

Essential cookies are required for the site to function and are always set. Analytics cookies are optional.

3. Embedded video

Some worker profiles include a short video introduction hosted on YouTube or Loom. These are the only third parties whose content we embed on our pages, and we handle each to limit the cookies it can set:

  • YouTube videos load through youtube-nocookie.com, which sets no cookies until you press play.
  • Loom has no cookie-free mode, so a Loom video can set Loom's own cookies as soon as it loads. In regions where we ask for opt-in consent (the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland), a Loom video does not load until you click to play it, so no request reaches Loom and no Loom cookies are set before then. Elsewhere, where analytics consent is implied, the Loom video loads together with the page.

We embed no other third-party content. Vimeo, Google Drive, and TikTok links open on their own sites in a new tab.

Where the law requires opt-in consent (the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland), we show a consent banner and set no analytics cookies until you choose "Accept all". "Reject non-essential" leaves you with only the essential cookies, and the site works exactly the same.

Elsewhere, analytics cookies are set by default because they are permitted there, and you can turn them off at any time (section 6).

5. Global Privacy Control and "Do Not Sell"

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal everywhere: if your browser sends it, we treat it as an opt-out and do not enable analytics cookies. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing further to opt out of under California law. GPC and the cookie preferences control below are the opt-out mechanisms.

6. Managing cookies

  • Use the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page to change your choice at any time.
  • You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the essential cookies will break sign-in and language selection.
